The People's Party has increased kitchen support to aid flood victims and accelerated boxed meal production after discovering that many communities remain blind spots with no food access yet.
On 28 Sep 2026 GMT+7, the People's Party continued mobilizing aid for flood-affected residents in Bangkok, especially in Bang Kapi and surrounding areas, while expanding the capacity of the People's Central Kitchen to improve food distribution access.
After ongoing aid and situation assessments over several days, the People's Party flood monitoring team found that the main issues are not only persistent flooding but also limited access to food and essentials in inner communities, where some aid has yet to arrive. Consequently, the party is increasing resources and coordinating additional kitchens to expand food production and distribution to cover more underserved areas.
Besides the People's Central Kitchen in Bang Kapi District, Bangkok, which has been continuously producing meals since yesterday, another People's Central Kitchen has opened at Huai Phlu Market in Nakhon Pathom Province to help produce over 1,000 boxed meals daily for flood victims, aiming to meet the ongoing high demand.
Furthermore, the task force noted that several areas still require vigilance, with reports indicating many residents in flats, dormitories, and various buildings urgently need food, drinking water, and essential supplies.
Previously, the People's Party mobilized MPs, local councilors, task force members, and volunteers to survey conditions and assist residents in heavily flooded areas of Bang Kapi, Lat Phrao, Ramkhamhaeng, and Krungthep Kreetha, organizing nine teams to deliver food, water, and necessities to severely affected locations. Floodwaters ranged from knee to chest height, trapping some residents inside their homes. Many buildings faced electrical and water supply outages, and local shops had insufficient goods.
Led by Pichan Chaowaphatwong, Secretary-General of the People's Party, and Panika Wanich, Executive Committee member of the Progressive Foundation, the team distributed 400 boxed meals in Soi Hua Mak 12 and surveyed local conditions, discovering floodwaters so high that small cars could not pass.
The survey also revealed several densely populated flats in the area where residents deep inside the alley had hardly received aid. While some managed to wade through floodwaters outside, many children and elderly remained inside, making it difficult for them to access food and supplies. This highlights that many smaller communities and areas still lack adequate assistance.
During the visit, the team led by Pichan and Panika also encountered a motorcycle accident caused by strong waves, leaving a female passenger unconscious. The People's Party team provided aid and safely transported her to Ramkhamhaeng Hospital.
