Prime Minister Anutin has instructed ministers to spread out across flood-affected areas but declined to specify where he himself will visit. Pattana, the Minister of Public Health, brought leptospirosis prevention medicine to distribute to the Cabinet during the meeting.
At 10:00 a.m. on 29 Sep 2026, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Chanvirakul briefly spoke at Government House before chairing the Cabinet meeting about following up on flood relief efforts. When asked whether he would personally visit any flood sites today, he said ministers would distribute themselves across affected areas. He did not answer whether he would personally visit any locations.
Meanwhile, Pattana Promphat, Minister of Public Health, together with Dr. Peerayut Sanukul, Director of the Health Promotion Bureau, brought leptospirosis prevention medicine to distribute to ministers at the Cabinet meeting. This was because many ministers have been wading through floodwaters to assist flood victims continuously.
The leptospirosis medicine given to the Cabinet serves as a reminder and to explain to villagers that this antibiotic is a hazardous drug that must be prescribed by a doctor only. Therefore, the government cannot include this medicine in relief bags for all citizens because it may be misused, and some people may have drug resistance or severe allergic reactions to it.
For the general public, other medicines can be used to reduce symptoms, such as paracetamol, oral rehydration salts, medicine for athlete's foot, antihistamines, and anti-itch medications.
