Suchart revealed that the overall flooding in the eastern region is starting to improve, with problems at Khao Chuk Reservoir resolved. He stated that the Prime Minister has ordered the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to help set up the Rom Klao shelter center and to send catering trucks into the area to distribute 6,000 meals daily.
At 10:00 a.m. on 29 September 2026 at the Government House, Suchart Chomklin, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), serving as chairman of the committee for flood and drought prevention and resolution in the eastern region, spoke about the ministry's overall relief efforts for flood victims. He acknowledged that the flooding was unprecedented but noted that the situation is now improving, especially in Chonburi Province, although concerns remain in Rayong, Chanthaburi, Prachinburi, and Sa Kaeo provinces. Additionally, the Prime Minister has ordered the MNRE to assist with the shelter center in Lat Krabang area. They have prepared food and essential supplies to aid affected residents and to encourage the community. Three catering trucks from the Royal Forest Department have been deployed, capable of preparing 6,000 cooked meals daily, to support victims sheltering at the centers. He also directed all departments to bring necessary relief equipment to the affected areas.
"I feel sympathy for the people. Yesterday, water levels rose significantly; some only had the clothes on their backs. I instructed the MNRE Permanent Secretary to purchase clothing at Bobae Market, along with toothbrushes and toothpaste, to distribute to flood victims. Most importantly, there are many young children lacking powdered milk and hot water boilers. We have supplemented these essentials comprehensively. We encourage and support each other and help provide what they lack," Suchart said.
Suchart stated that today boats will be taken to Rom Klao area because residents continue to seek help through his and the MNRE's social media pages to evacuate flood victims. Although the situation has eased, assistance is still needed for cleaning and repairing homes. This is a key mission where they must provide support. He affirmed that they are doing their utmost and assured everyone that he and the government stand alongside them throughout this crisis.
When asked about ongoing concerns in Rayong Province, Suchart said that on 28 September he checked with the Rayong governor after flying via the MNRE helicopter alongside the Royal Irrigation Department. They found issues at Khao Chuk Reservoir and Khao Chamao District's springway. The Royal Irrigation Department has since resolved these problems. He ordered National Park officials in Koh Samet and Khao Chamao areas to assist fully, especially in helping residents move belongings to higher ground and evacuate bedridden patients. They will also add about five more catering trucks to distribute aid across the eastern provinces.
