The government announced that the Metropolitan Electricity Authority has restored power to residents of the Khlong Chan and Romklao housing communities. They are expediting safety inspections of electrical systems in flooded areas, prioritizing public safety.
On 29 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Ploytale Lakshmisaengchan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, disclosed that flooding in the Khlong Chan housing community (Bang Kapi District) and Romklao housing community (Lat Krabang District) has impacted residents. The government assigned the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) to inspect safety and fully restore electricity supply to alleviate residents’ difficulties.
Ms. Ploytale stated that the latest update shows the MEA has resumed electricity supply in Khlong Chan and Romklao housing areas after continuous safety inspections and assessments of flood-affected electrical systems. Power has been fully restored from the second floor upwards in safe areas. In zones with high flood levels, MEA has temporarily disconnected power supply equipment to prevent electrical hazards, with plans to inspect and gradually restore power as conditions allow until full restoration is achieved.
“The Prime Minister has instructed MEA staff to act swiftly, prioritizing the safety of residents and personnel. Residents affected by flooding are advised to have qualified technicians inspect electrical systems, appliances, plugs, switches, and any equipment previously submerged before reuse. If any device is damaged or suspected of electrical leakage, avoid contact and notify MEA for advice and assistance. The MEA hotline at 1130 is available 24 hours a day.” /
