Sakolthee, together with former MP and local council candidates from Lak Si district, distributed survival kits and adult diapers to residents and bedridden patients affected by flooding, while establishing a kitchen to prepare meals daily for them.
On 29 Sep 2026, Sakolthee Pattiyakul, a party-list MP from the Democrat Party, along with his team including Rangsan Kiyapaj, former candidate for local council of Lak Si district; Jetsada Lertthanasarn, former MP candidate for Bangkok's Constituency 2 covering Sathorn, Pathumwan, and Ratchathewi; and Rapeepat Sumetchotimetha, former MP candidate for Bangkok's Constituency 8 covering Lak Si and Chatuchak, visited flood-affected areas to deliver survival kits, dry food, adult diapers, and drinking water to residents in the Ruam Phatthana community, Thung Song Hong subdistrict, Lak Si district, Bangkok.
Sakolthee revealed that after receiving reports that residents in the area were still experiencing severe flooding and needed assistance, he and his team of former MP and local council candidates returned to assess the situation and brought survival kits and adult diapers, given the presence of bedridden patients, to distribute to the affected residents there.
He added that the Democrat Party had set up a kitchen at Wat Thewasunthorn to prepare boxed meals to distribute to flood victims, and the temple grounds were also arranged as a temporary shelter for affected residents.
“The Democrat Party is providing three meals a day for those staying at the shelter within Wat Thewasunthorn and delivering food to other communities as well, totaling between 600 and 1,000 meal boxes daily,” Sakolthee said.
He further stated that their survey of the flood conditions within Ruam Phatthana community, Thung Song Hong subdistrict, Lak Si district, Bangkok, showed that floodwaters remained high because the community lies at the canal's end. The water in the canal had overflowed into residential areas to about 50-60 centimeters, though this was lower than earlier levels which had been above knee height.
“Local residents acknowledged they received flood warning messages, but only after flooding had occurred. I remain concerned that although water levels in Khlong Prem Prachakorn have decreased somewhat, there is still worry about upstream water and dam releases that could slow the water's recession. We must monitor this closely. Additionally, I am concerned about electrical hazards as the area’s power has not been cut off. I have called on relevant government agencies and the electricity authority to visit and address these issues promptly, since many homes remain flooded.” Sakolthee stated.
During the visit to assess residents’ hardships, many expressed gratitude to Sakolthee for wading through floodwaters to deliver survival kits. Several elderly women embraced him, saying he has never forgotten Lak Si and has continuously supported them.
Sakolthee emphasized that after the floodwaters recede, he plans to consult with the party about coordinating with vocational institutes and technical teams to provide manpower to repair electrical systems, appliances, cars, and motorcycles to assist affected residents further.
Meanwhile, over the past several days, the Democrat Party has prepared survival kits to distribute to flood victims in many areas where residents have not yet been able to access government aid.
