On 29 Sep 2026, Nan Boonthida Somchai, Deputy Minister of Digital Economy and Society and spokesperson for the Bhumjaithai Party, stated that to ensure public understanding regarding the ongoing floods, the assistance criteria remain those for the 2026 rainy season flood victims, with the following details.
Current relief criteria in use
• Assistance of 9,000 baht per household for those eligible for help.
• For flooding lasting continuously over 7 days, assistance is 9,000 baht per household.
• In cases of death caused by landslides and flooding, additional aid of 2,000,000 baht per case is provided.
Meanwhile, the National Disaster Insurance is a new measure set to take effect from 1 October 2026 onward. Therefore, it is not yet in force and does not cover current events.
Nan Boonthida stated, Simply put, the current floods use the existing relief criteria. The National Disaster Insurance starts on 1 October 2026. She urged the public to check their rights and criteria with local authorities to receive correct and complete assistance.
