By royal command, Ms. Kanchana Phoolkaew was relieved from the position of Secretary-General of the Social Security Office and appointed Director-General of the Department of Labour Welfare and Protection. Ms. Jirapha Boonrat was appointed to replace her as Secretary-General of the Social Security Office.
On 29 September 2026, the Royal Gazette website publishedan announcement from the Prime Minister's Office regarding the appointment of civil servants.It stated that by royal command, two senior civil servants under the Ministry of Labour were relieved from their positions and appointed to senior executive roles as follows:
1. Ms. Kanchana Phoolkaew was relieved from the position of Secretary-General of the Social Security Office and appointed to the position of Director-General of the Department of Labour Welfare and Protection.
2. Ms. Jirapha Boonrat was relieved from the position of Inspector-General of the Ministry of Labour, Office of the Permanent Secretary, and appointed to the position of Secretary-General of the Social Security Office.
These appointments take effect from 1 October 2026 onwards.
