Worasit visited the Khlong Chan-Romklao housing project to inspect the Ministry of Interior’s OTOP kitchen, joining forces with four agencies to distribute 33,000 meal boxes daily to assist residents of 30 flats. He also ordered the Department of Local Administration to mobilize mobile toilets from local governments nationwide and to expedite restoration of the water supply system to normal operation.
On 29 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Deputy Minister of Interior Worasit Liangprasert visited the Khlong Chan-Romklao housing project in Bang Kapi district, Bangkok, to monitor flood conditions and inspect the Ministry of Interior's OTOP kitchen. He also encouraged rescue volunteers and community volunteers assisting local residents.
Worasit stated that the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with government agencies and various sectors, is integrating proactive plans to swiftly alleviate hardships for residents affected by flooding across 30 housing flats. They have mobilized resources to prepare and deliver 33,000 cooked meal boxes daily to ensure continuous, comprehensive, and non-duplicated food support for the people.
“From a detailed survey of basic utilities in all 30 flats, we found that most electrical systems are functioning normally in 18 buildings, with 4 buildings receiving power only during night to early morning hours, and some experiencing outages or undergoing inspections. Meanwhile, the water supply system is facing a severe crisis, with only 6 buildings having normal water service, while others suffer from unclean or partial water availability. I have urgently ordered related agencies to distribute clean drinking water while sending technical teams to repair and restore the electricity and water systems to normal operation as soon as possible,” Worasit said.
Worasit added that he has instructed the Department of Local Administration to urgently coordinate the provision of mobile toilets from local administrative organizations nationwide, especially from provinces not affected by flooding, to support sanitation services for Bangkok residents. In flood situations, sanitation and hygiene are as critical as food, drinking water, and shelter, as they directly impact the health and quality of life of people in flooded areas.
