Bangkok has announced a reduction in the number of districts still experiencing disasters to 29, following the end of heavy rains. It found that 21 districts were unaffected, 14 had moderate impact, and 15 experienced severe impact.
At 9:00 p.m. on 29 September 2026, Bangkok, which had previously declared all 50 districts as disaster-affected areas on 25 September 2026, issued a new announcement from the Bangkok Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command regarding the end of the disaster situation in Bangkok, excluding the districts of Khlong Sam Wa, Khan Na Yao, Chatuchak, Don Mueang, Din Daeng, Dusit, Thawi Watthana, Thung Khru, Bang Khen, Bang Kapi, Bang Sue, Bang Na, Bang Bon, Bang Phlat, Bueng Kum, Prawet, Phaya Thai, Phra Khanong, Min Buri, Ratchathewi, Lat Krabang, Wang Thonglang, Watthana, Suan Luang, Saphan Sung, Sai Mai, Nong Chok,
Lak Si and Huai Khwang districts.
It stated that the Bangkok Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command had previously announced on 25 September 2026 that all 50 districts were disaster-affected due to continuous heavy rainfall causing flooding and traffic congestion. This situation disrupted daily life and posed risks to life, health, and property, constituting a disaster under the 2007 Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Act.
Now that the heavy rain has ceased, assessments show 21 districts were unaffected, 14 had moderate impact, and 15 suffered severe impact, as detailed in the attached documents. Therefore, the disaster situation is declared over in the 21 unaffected districts, with 29 districts remaining disaster-affected. District directors are responsible for continuing actions under the 2007 Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Act and related regulations.
