Government Deploys Ministry of Social Development to Ladkrabang to Set Up Central Kitchen for Food and Relief Package Distribution to Rom Klao Housing Community

The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS) has set up a central kitchen to prepare cooked meals for distribution to flood-affected residents in the Rom Klao housing community.

On 30 September 2026, Second Lieutenant Phatdarasmi Thongsaluaykorn, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, announced that the government is actively assisting those affected by flooding. The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS) is the main agency conducting rapid on-site aid, focusing especially on vulnerable groups and residents in areas with travel restrictions to ensure direct assistance reaches everyone without leaving anyone behind.

This visit to the Rom Klao housing community marks the second consecutive day of monitoring and providing aid. The MSDHS deployed boats to reach residential buildings, some of which are difficult to access and where some residents had not yet received adequate assistance. Officials delivered boxed meals, drinking water, and relief packages directly to the buildings to ensure help reached the people amidst travel challenges caused by flooding.

During the visit, residents in the buildings warmly welcomed the assistance, especially appreciating that officials brought boats directly to their homes to deliver food and essential supplies, alleviating their hardship during a time when traveling to receive aid was difficult.

In addition to field operations, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security has expedited aid through a “central kitchen” to produce cooked meals and distribute them to affected areas. The Community Organizations Council of Wang Thonglang District, together with MSDHS and the Community Organizations Development Office (Pohch.), established a special central kitchen at Intharachai Commercial College on Ramkhamhaeng Soi 39, Bangkok, to mobilize resources, prepare ingredients, cook meals, and package them for delivery to flood-affected residents in Bangkok.

This central kitchen receives ingredient support from the Treasury Department, including 100 bags of rice, 500 bottles of drinking water, 100 kilograms each of fresh chicken and pork, and 1,000 eggs. These supplies are used to prepare meals and provide ongoing aid to vulnerable groups and affected residents, enabling continuous and timely food distribution in response to the situation.

Second Lieutenant Phatdarasmi explained that the flood relief efforts focus on reaching residents in genuinely affected areas, especially locations with difficult access where people are still waiting for aid. The MSDHS coordinates with affiliated agencies, civil society, and the private sector to pool resources and deliver assistance—such as food, drinking water, and essential items—as quickly as possible to alleviate hardships during the flooding.

Vulnerable individuals or those facing urgent difficulties can request help from the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security through the Rapid Response Center for Public Welfare (SorSor), accessible via the MSDHS hotline at 1300, which operates free of charge 24 hours a day.
