Prime Minister Presents Luang Pho Samret Sak Sit Buddha Statue to Permanent Secretary Yupa on Retirement Day, Invites Her to Continue Supporting Behind the Scenes

The Prime Minister received Yupa Taweewattanakitboworn, Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office, at the Thai Khu Fah Building to bid farewell on her retirement and invited her to continue supporting work behind the scenes.


On 30 September 2026 GMT+7 at Government House, Yupa Taweewattanakitboworn, Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office, revealed after meeting with Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who is also Minister of Interior, at the Thai Khu Fah Building to say farewell upon her retirement, that the Prime Minister still wishes for her to continue assisting in carrying forward important projects, especially those of the Prime Minister’s Office, which serves as the central coordinating agency supporting government operations. Therefore, she will continue to work behind the scenes and provide advice to junior civil servants.

Yupa added that the Prime Minister presented her with a revered "Luang Pho Samret Sak Sit" Buddha statue from Saraburi Province as a gift and encouragement. After she complimented the statue’s beauty, the Prime Minister immediately offered it to her for veneration.

Additional reports indicate that the revered "Luang Pho Samret Sak Sit" Buddha statue previously stood in the Prime Minister’s office. Prime Minister Anutin and his wife hold it in great reverence. A replica is enshrined at the Luang Pho Samret Sak Sit Shrine (Nong Ta Lo), in Khotchasit Subdistrict, Nong Khae District, Saraburi Province.
