The government is advancing efforts to improve the quality of life and welfare for healthcare personnel at all levels by adjusting the wage rates for temporary employees, effective from 1 October.
On 30 September 2026, Ms. Ploytale Lakshamisangchan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, announced that the government, through the Ministry of Public Health, has revised the wage structure for temporary employees paid outside the budget (maintenance funds) to align with current economic conditions and living costs. This aims to boost morale and retain skilled and capable personnel who provide services to the public, as well as attract quality staff to work in agencies.
Ms. Ploytale stated that from 1 October 2026, the revised wage structure for temporary employees funded outside the budget (maintenance funds) will be effective. The monthly wages of temporary employees will be adjusted to compensate those affected as of 1 October 2026. The previous wage structure for temporary employees in both professional and support groups under the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health will be abolished.
Details of qualifications, minimum wage rates, and maximum wage rates effective 1 October 2026 are as follows:
No formal education required: minimum wage 10,520 baht, maximum wage 12,100 baht.
Vocational Certificate (Por Wor Chor): minimum wage 11,380 baht, maximum wage 13,090 baht.
Technical Vocational Certificate (Por Wor Thor): minimum wage 13,130 baht, maximum wage 15,100 baht.
Higher Vocational Certificate (Por Wor Sor): minimum wage 13,920 baht, maximum wage 16,010 baht.
Bachelor's degree, 4-year program: minimum wage 18,150 baht, maximum wage 23,000 baht.
Bachelor's degree, 5-year program: minimum wage 19,120 baht, maximum wage 23,000 baht.
Bachelor's degree, 6-year program: minimum wage 21,180 baht, maximum wage 23,000 baht.
For medical and dental professions, the civil service salary schedule will be applied as a guideline for temporary employee wages by special provision according to qualifications certified by the Office of the Civil Service Commission.
