The prime minister dismissed online calls to remove the Bangkok governor, affirming he has never considered it, and pointed out that constant criticism only undermines morale. He revealed that the water situation in Bangkok is starting to improve.
On 30 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul spoke about public demands to evaluate and dismiss Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt due to flooding issues. The prime minister responded clearly, “I have never thought about that,” emphasizing that the most important priority now is to focus on helping the people first.
Anutin added that all parties are working diligently, and if they keep criticizing those actively working, it will only cause setbacks. Currently, the overall water situation is gradually improving, thanks to weather conditions and the cooperation of officials from all agencies. He has been continuously coordinating and monitoring the situation through site visits, command centers, and online systems.
The prime minister also revealed that he recently spoke with the Bangkok Permanent Secretary, who reported that water levels have decreased in many areas, leaving only the Romklao area waiting for the tide to recede. They have prepared pumps on standby to drain water immediately when the timing is right. He stressed that all agencies must follow procedures and prioritize efficiency, rather than performing actions just for appearances without solving the problems.
