Chuan criticizes Thai Airways for closing its cargo warehouse, damaging the country's reputation, and urges the government to act as stagnant floodwaters begin to rot, fearing a deadly disease outbreak.
On 30 September 2026 at the parliament, during an urgent debate on water management and flood relief measures, Chuan Leekpai, a party-list MP from the Democrat Party and former prime minister, said that after visiting flood victims in Lat Krabang and Bang Kapi, most residents expressed that the government and related agencies issued warnings and responded too late, causing severe damage. Although the rain has stopped, the stagnant floodwater is starting to rot, so he urged the government to urgently address the situation to prevent a disease outbreak worsening the people's suffering.
Additionally, Chuan spoke about the management of Thai Airways Public Company Limited, comparing this flood not to Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang airports being flooded, but rather to "flooding Thai Airways" due to its order to embargo inbound and outbound cargo at the Suvarnabhumi warehouse from 1–6 October. He said this decision seriously damages the reputation, credibility, and Thailand's international logistics system.
Chuan emphasized that issuing this order is an avoidance of the problem, lacking responsibility. Although Thai Airways is no longer a full state enterprise, the Ministry of Finance remains its major shareholder. He therefore called on the government, through the parliamentary speaker, to urgently negotiate with Thai Airways' management to review and revoke the order immediately to protect the nation's image and honor, preventing further damage.
