The new Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office expressed pride and honor at having the opportunity to work on the royal funeral ceremony for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, in December 2026, and for Princess Bajrakitiyabha in early February 2027. He vowed to prepare everything to the utmost perfection and dignity.
At 08:00 on 1 October 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Chatichai Bangchuad, Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office, paid respects at the guardian spirit shrines and ancestral shrines at the Government House before beginning his duties as Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office for the first day. Mr. Chatichai stated he would continue the work of the previous Permanent Secretary, who had laid the foundation, and that the handover was completed on 30 September 2026.
The Permanent Secretary said, he personally feels proud and honored to have the opportunity to work on important royal ceremonies for both royal figures: the royal funeral ceremony of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, in December 2026, and the funeral of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendirathep Waradet, Krom Luang Rajsarinisiri Patchra, Maha Vajraratchathida, scheduled for early February 2027. He considers this a significant responsibility in his work at the Prime Minister’s Office and is committed to ensuring all preparations are as complete and dignified as possible.
