Chadchart Accepts All Feedback, Vows Not to Give Up Despite Calls for Dismissal as Bangkok Governor

Chadchart accepts all feedback and insists he will not be discouraged despite drama demanding his removal as Bangkok Governor. He is ready to work fully and answer every question.

On 1 Oct 2026, Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, was interviewed regarding calls from some citizens urging the Prime Minister to dismiss him from the governor position. Chadchart said this depends on the Prime Minister; he has no problem with it.

When asked if he felt discouraged, Chadchart said no, he is doing his best. He stressed that the drama linking the issue to royal projects is incorrect. The decision is based purely on technical aspects and what is best. He understands some local people want this project, but since the monkey cheek project covers the whole province, the overall water inflow, outflow, and investment must be considered. He believes long-standing projects must be reassessed for cost-effectiveness and that new technologies can replace them with more efficient systems.

Regarding public feedback calling for his removal due to many errors in handling the recent flood problems, Chadchart said he respects all opinions. He acknowledged that people have mixed feelings but everyone has the right to express views. Ultimately, it is up to the Prime Minister to decide on dismissal or not. He added that he can answer all questions about what happened and what actions are being taken.
