Prime Minister Anutin has signed the revocation of Thai nationality for Ariel Blustein after finding violations of conditions, including using his original nationality to conceal facts, which could cause serious harm if left unaddressed.
On 1 October 2026, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, signed an announcement revoking the Thai nationality of Ariel Blustein, a former Israeli national, after evidence emerged that he continued using his original nationality after acquiring Thai nationality and concealed important facts about holding another nationality, which are crucial in the naturalization application.
According to the Ministry of Interior's announcement on revoking Thai nationality, Ariel Blustein, originally an Israeli national, acquired Thai nationality through naturalization under Section 10 in conjunction with Section 11 (1) of the Nationality Act B.E. 2508. This was officially published in the Government Gazette on 3 April 2019, and his first Thai ID card was issued on 14 June 2019.
However, on 14 June 2019, the date his Thai ID card was issued, Ariel Blustein was still using an Israeli passport to travel to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China, and he returned to Thailand on 23 June 2019 using the Israeli passport. This constitutes use of his original nationality, violating the conditions of his Thai naturalization.
Furthermore, it was found that Ariel Blustein also holds Uruguayan nationality and had used that nationality for multiple international trips before applying for Thai naturalization. He did not disclose this fact to officials nor express any intention to renounce his Uruguayan nationality.
Based on these facts and evidence, this case qualifies for revocation of Thai nationality under the Nationality Act B.E. 2508 because he continued using his original nationality and provided false or concealed essential information in his naturalization application, especially concealing his Uruguayan nationality, which if allowed to continue could cause serious damage to the public and the state.
Therefore, the Minister of Interior exercised authority under Section 19, paragraph one, of the Nationality Act B.E. 2508 to revoke Ariel Blustein's Thai nationality and issued a public announcement on 1 October 2026.
