On 1 October 2026, Ms. Sabida Thaiset, Minister of Culture, along with the Department of Cultural Promotion, supported the royal Thai costumes and royal-donated shirts made from raised-pattern silk and mudmee silk from the Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations for twelve Thai youths to wear while presenting their visions on the UNESCO stage at today's international peace conference.

Before reaching the UNESCO stage, the twelve Thai youths wore traditional Thai silk costumes and shone in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, showcasing to the world the beauty and identity of Thai traditional dress.

Later this year, the Department of Cultural Promotion, Ministry of Culture, will push the nomination of “Chud Thai: Knowledge, Craftsmanship and Practices of the Thai National Costume” for inclusion on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This nomination will be considered at the 21st session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, held from 30 November to 5 December 2026 in Xiamen, People’s Republic of China.
