Akranand Inspects Floods in Kanchanaburi, Coordinates with Department of Livestock to Provide Animal Feed for Farmers

Akranand continues his visit to flood-hit Kanchanaburi, concerned about farmers facing heavy impacts on both income and costs. He coordinates with the Department of Livestock to procure animal feed to assist farmers, easing their burden during periods when they cannot work, while also accelerating recovery efforts after the water subsides.

On 1 October 2026, Mr. Akranand Kankittinan, Deputy Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Kanchanaburi Constituency 1 from the Pheu Thai Party, visited the area to continuously monitor flood conditions and provide assistance to residents in Kanchanaburi. He also followed up on impacts to agriculture, especially farmers affected by flooding in both cultivation areas and livestock raising.

Mr. Akranand stated that besides providing food, drinking water, medicines, and essential supplies to the public, urgent efforts must focus on helping farmers. The flood situation affects not only daily life but also agricultural output and livestock farmers, who require continuous feed and animal care. Therefore, he has coordinated with relevant agencies, especially the Department of Livestock under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, to source and supply animal feed to the area to assist affected farmers and alleviate expenses during the period they cannot work normally.

“Today, we are not only focusing on the flooding of people's homes but also on the livelihoods and professions of our fellow citizens, especially the farmers affected. When floods occur, livestock still need food, and farmers must continue caring for these animals. We need to provide help in this area as well,” Mr. Akranand said.

He added that regarding animal feed, he has coordinated with the Department of Livestock under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives to find ways to bring animal feed quickly to assist farmers in affected areas, as they do not want farmers to bear additional burdens during a time when their incomes are impacted by flooding.

Mr. Akranand further stated that assistance at this stage must simultaneously address direct support for affected people and preservation of their livelihoods, especially in agriculture, which is a key source of household income in the area. Therefore, damage assessments and outreach to farmers must be expedited. Government agencies—including administrative bodies, local authorities, agricultural departments, livestock authorities, and related organizations—must work in coordination to provide comprehensive support from disaster onset through post-flood recovery.

“What we can do now is help them get through this most difficult time. When the flooding subsides, we will advance efforts to restore both the livelihoods and living conditions of our farmer communities as quickly as possible,” Mr. Akranand said.
