The Prime Minister showcased his cooking charm by taking on the role of chef to prepare stir-fried basil and fried pork for flood victims, assuring the kitchen will stay open until the situation improves.
On 1 Oct 2026 GMT+7 at the Bhumjaithai Party, Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, also party leader, visited the "Bhumjaithai Kitchen" to oversee food preparation and distribution to flood victims in Bangkok. Ms. Supamas Isarapakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office and supervisor of the kitchen, along with party leaders and MPs, joined in the food preparation.
Upon arrival, Anutin greeted those receiving food before stepping into the field kitchen to stir-fry chicken basil, fry pork, and personally season the dishes. He advised the cooks to increase saltiness and balance flavors in every menu item. He sampled the food alongside Ms. Traisulee Traisoranakul, Secretary to the Prime Minister, in a friendly atmosphere. People waiting for food took photos and asked the Prime Minister to consider extending the "Thai Help Thai Plus" program until the New Year.
Anutin said the Bhumjaithai kitchen’s capacity and readiness have steadily increased, thanks to volunteers and donors providing ingredients at no cost to the party. He expressed gratitude to all involved. On 30 Sept, the kitchen distributed 10,000 food boxes; today, that number rose to 12,000, reflecting increased production ability. He confirmed the kitchen would remain operational until the flood situation returns to normal, before heading to evening duties.
