Sabida Leads Thaiset Family to Aid Uthai Thani Flood Victims After Flash Floods Inundate Sawang Arom Market

The Thaiset family—Chada, Sabida, and Panatcha—stepped into floodwaters to distribute aid to flood victims in Uthai Thani after flash floods from Mae Wong and Khlong Pho Reservoirs overwhelmed Sawang Arom Market. They also visited shelters to encourage the local people.

On 2 October 2026, Ms. Sabida Thaiset, Minister of Culture, immediately visited Sawang Arom Subdistrict in Sawang Arom District, Uthai Thani Province, to monitor the flood situation. This was after completing her mission distributing survival kits and encouraging flood victims in Romklao Housing Community, Lat Krabang District, Bangkok. Ms. Panatcha Thaiset, Mayor of Uthai Thani Municipality, joined the group. The flooding was caused by continuous rainfall over several days, resulting in flash floods from Mae Wong National Park in Kamphaeng Phet Province and water released from Khlong Pho Reservoir in Mae Poen District, Nakhon Sawan Province. The floodwaters merged into Khlong Pho and Khlong Tak Daet, which border Sawang Arom District, then quickly overflowed the banks to inundate the district and Sawang Arom Market. Although the rain in Uthai Thani has stopped, accumulated water from the northern areas continues flowing downstream.

Ms. Sabida waded through floodwaters to enter the community, personally delivering relief supplies to flood victims. She also visited a temporary shelter at Sawang Arom Witthaya School, inquiring about the flooding situation and speaking with residents to offer encouragement.

Earlier, Ms. Panatcha united with a team of municipal executives, councilors, officials, and community committee members to continuously monitor and protect the area, fully dedicating efforts to assist the local residents.

Meanwhile, Mr. Chada Thaiset, Uthai Thani MP from the Bhumjaithai Party, immediately went to Ban Rai District after a parliamentary session to address problems and alleviate hardships caused by recent heavy rains. Previously, he visited Thung Pho, Thung Nangam, and Wang Hin Subdistricts, as well as Ban Thong Lang Village, using drones to deliver supplies to flood victims because flash floods, large rocks, and strong currents made ground access difficult.
