Labor Ministry Team Launches Repair and Happiness Center at Khlong Chan Flats to Provide Free Community Services

"Pipat Chai - Kor Kaeo" lead the Ministry of Labor team to Khlong Chan Flats and Soi Cement Thai to establish the 'Repair and Happiness Center,' offering free motorcycle and electrical appliance repairs, health check-ups, and livelihood restoration services after floodwaters recede, directly to the community.

On 3 Oct 2026 at 11:00, Mr. Pipat Chai Paiboon, spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor (political wing), along with Mr. Kor Kaeo Pikulthong, chairman of the ministerial working group, visited the site to inspect and encourage the staff operating the Ministry of Labor's 'Repair and Happiness Center.' They met and conversed with community members receiving services from the center and affiliated Ministry agencies. Present were Mr. Chatiwut Thongkan, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Skill Development; Mr. Tawepong Wichaidit, Governor of the National Housing Authority; Mr. Khattiya Pandet, Inspector General of the Department of Employment; Mr. Sombat Pothiwat, Inspector General of the Department of Skill Development; Mr. Kometh Piyaphan, Inspector General of the Department of Skill Development; and other relevant officials at Khlong Chan Flats (Block 13) in Bang Kapi District, Bangkok.

Mr. Pipat Chai said that today, the Ministry of Labor recognizes the hardships faced by workers, insured persons, and the public, so it has mobilized resources to establish this center to promptly and comprehensively assist those affected by flooding. The focus is on reducing expenses and restoring normal living conditions as quickly as possible. Services at the center include: 1. Vehicle services—inspection and basic repairs for cars and motorcycles damaged by floods; 2. Household appliances—inspection and repair of electrical devices affected by water; and 3. Physical and mental health—basic health checks, mental health assessments, and counseling to alleviate stress impacts. Additionally, a mobile employment unit provides job placement services and guidance on searching and applying for jobs via the 'Thai Mee Ngan Tum' website, along with career counseling to facilitate convenient access to employment services. The center also offers labor services from all Ministry agencies.

"The Ministry of Labor stands alongside and contributes to alleviating the hardships of flood-affected people. We sincerely hope that opening the 'Repair and Happiness Center' to repair motorcycles, electrical appliances, provide health checks, and restore livelihoods after floodwaters recede will help ease financial burdens and enable everyone to resume their work and daily lives as soon as possible," said Mr. Pipat Chai.

Later in the afternoon, Mr. Pipat Chai Paiboon, Ministry of Labor spokesperson (political wing), together with Mr. Kor Kaeo Pikulthong, chairman of the ministerial working group, and the team continued to visit and encourage the staff of the Ministry's 'Repair and Happiness Center.' They also met and uplifted flood-affected residents by providing boxed meals and drinking water at Sala Ruam Jai, Cement Thai Village, Chatuchak District, Bangkok.
