The Ministry of Transport confirms that Suvarnabhumi Airport has returned to normal conditions, with no flight cancellations. Cargo transport is gradually normalizing. Thai Airways is ready to deliver delayed baggage free of charge to passengers and bear all costs for this service. The situation is now stable.
On 3 Oct 2026, Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Transport, stated that regarding baggage handling, passenger flights, and Thai Airways cargo, delayed passenger baggage has been continuously delivered since 28 Sept 2026 until midnight yesterday. The operations center set up to expedite baggage clearance has now completed its work and been closed. Remaining baggage has been transferred to Thai Airways' Operations Building (OPC) for inspection, sorting, and direct delivery to passengers. It is estimated that fewer than 1,000 pieces remain in process. Thai Airways is responsible for coordinating and monitoring delivery to passengers.
Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, Deputy Minister of Transport and spokesperson for the Ministry, reported that Suvarnabhumi Airport has resumed normal passenger services. Thai Airways has fully restored flight operations with no cancellations reported. Passenger baggage delayed from 26-28 Sept 2026 has been moved by Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) to Thai Airways' Operations Building at Suvarnabhumi. About 300 pieces of baggage still awaiting transfer, mostly for connecting flights, remain pending delivery until flights to respective countries are available.
Regarding cargo services, the cargo situation has returned to normal operations, and cargo flow has resumed. Shipping agents are continuously collecting goods. Suvarnabhumi Airport supports and facilitates cargo clearance and delivery throughout the day to expedite normalization. Approximately 400 cargo containers remain at the warehouse awaiting shipment, expected to be cleared soon. New cargo handling services have also returned to normal.
Mr. Kittipong Kittikachorn, Director of Suvarnabhumi Airport, commented on passenger services, saying the atmosphere at the airport has returned to normal for both passengers and baggage handling. Passenger baggage is now being delivered normally. The baggage backlog caused by heavy rains and flight delays over the previous weekend, which led to baggage overflowing into passenger areas, has been cleared. The baggage that had filled the passenger hall during 26-28 Sept 2026 has been fully transferred to Thai Airways' Operations Building at Suvarnabhumi. The next step is for Thai Airways to progressively deliver the remaining few pieces to passengers.
Meanwhile, AOT closed its Emergency Management Center on the evening of Friday, 2 Oct 2026. Regarding cargo warehouse management, AOT has expanded space to accommodate Thai Airways' cargo containers. The situation is close to normal, thanks to the dedication of AOT staff who helped restore services to normal for passengers.
