The Flood Information Center revealed that the water mass passing through Bangkok has not flooded economic areas, and efforts are underway to recover Romklao Housing. Improvements are expected within two days. The Royal Irrigation Department noted that Chao Phraya River water levels are beginning to drop, assuring that flood dykes in Bangkok, Nonthaburi, and Pathum Thani remain sufficiently high.
4 Oct 2026 GMT+7 The Joint Information Center on Flood Situations provided a briefing on the water situation and disaster relief efforts, confirming the volume of water from the Chao Phraya basin. Mr. Paitoon Kengkarnchang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Office of the National Water Resources (ONWR), stated, that the latest water flow at station C.2 in Nakhon Sawan Province is 2,119 cubic meters per second and shows a declining trend in both the Ping and Nan Rivers. However, it remains necessary to maintain the discharge downstream of the Chao Phraya Dam at 2,500 cubic meters per second due to inflows from the Sakae Krang River. It is expected that within 2-3 days, water volume will decrease and discharge can be stabilized.
Water discharge from the Phra Ram 6 Dam is at 655 cubic meters per second, causing water levels in the Chao Phraya and Noi Rivers near Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province to rise slightly by about 10 centimeters today before the water mass moves into Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, and Bangkok.
“It is confirmed that the flood dykes in Bangkok and surrounding provinces remain significantly higher than water levels, so there is no impact on economic areas, though localized flooding may occur in low-lying areas outside the riverside dykes.”
Meanwhile, in the western region, Vajiralongkorn and Srinagarind Dams still have substantial capacity to hold water. In the eastern region, coordination with Bangkok and the Rangsit Tai Irrigation Project has accelerated water drainage in Ongkharak District and Chachoengsao Province.
Mr. Wisanu Charoen, Director of the Drainage Engineering Division of the Bangkok Drainage Department, reported on water drainage in eastern districts, including Min Buri, Nong Chok, Prawet, Saphan Sung, Sai Mai, and Lat Krabang. Currently, efforts are focused on recovering the Romklao Housing community in Lat Krabang District. Reinforcement of flood dykes and additional water pumps have lowered water levels by 30-60 centimeters, with remaining street flooding around 20-30 centimeters. Continuous pumping at 25 centimeters per day is expected to restore normal conditions within two days.
Additionally, Bangkok has received water from Pathum Thani Province through Khlong Hok Wa Sai Lang into Khlong Song and Lam Mo Ta Gate, increasing the opening of Khlong Saen Saeb floodgates by 50 centimeters and deploying water push boats to accelerate drainage into the Chao Phraya River, which should improve flooding in Sai Mai and O Ngoen areas within two days.
Regarding registration for flood relief assistance, Bangkok currently allows registrations through its official channels viathe website claim.Bangkok.go.th.To date, 35,800 people have registered.
A representative from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) reported that flood relief registrations have exceeded 850,000. The relief measures include three main components: advance government funds for emergency disaster aid (such as home repairs, temporary housing rent, and occupational equipment), and Cabinet-approved assistance for flood-affected residences. Those flooded for seven days or more receive 9,000 baht, while those affected by high-rise buildings or surrounded by water receive 5,000 baht.
Currently, the DDPM, together with the Digital Government Development Agency (DGA), has opened flood relief registrations via the “Government Channel” application, covering 65 provinces and 50 Bangkok districts, with a total of 851,547 registrants as of 08:30. Bangkok has the highest number at 371,775, followed by Samut Prakan, Pathum Thani, and Chachoengsao.
Concerning the duplicate mobile alerts from the government app last night, the DDPM and DGA have investigated and temporarily suspended data transmission. They confirmed there was no hacking or data leakage and are working to restore normal service as soon as possible. Authorities have advised residents in risk areas to closely monitor news and prepare to move belongings to higher ground, especially in homes with elderly, children, or patients, to ensure maximum safety.
