"Newin" wished "Anutin" to serve as Prime Minister until he gets tired, then said that two more terms would be enough.
On 4 Oct 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that earlier in the morning, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul joined a videoconference at Meeting Room 1, Building 3, 5th floor, Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), to participate in the National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command Center's monitoring meeting. He joined from the Phanom Rung meeting room, 4th floor, Buriram Provincial Hall.
Afterward, images showed Anutin attending the birthday celebration of Newin Chidchob, chairman of Buriram United Football Club, on his 68th birthday. The event is traditionally held annually on a grand scale at Chang Arena in Buriram Province and includes the elephant hair-cutting ceremony, a family tradition of the Chidchob lineage.
Following the elephant hair-cutting ceremony, Newin tied a wristband on Anutin and wished him to remain Prime Minister until he gets tired, adding that two more terms would be sufficient. Anutin replied playfully, "I'm already tired. Isn't that too many?"
