Anutin Affirms Unified Water Management Without Division, Smiles Without Comment After Newins Blessing for Two More PM Terms

Anutin affirmed that water management is unified and does not cause division, confirmed there are relief measures ready after floodwaters recede, plans to submit them to the Cabinet as soon as possible, and smiled without answering after Newin blessed him to serve two more terms as Prime Minister.

At 10:10 a.m. on 5 Oct 2026 GMT+7, at the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), following a National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command Center meeting, Anutin Chanvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, declined to give interviews to the press.

Reporters asked if water management authority across regions is now unified. Anutin nodded in agreement and said it is unified, adding they have held daily meetings since the incident began. When asked about concerns that water management in various areas might cause conflicts, he only smiled without answering.

When asked whether relief measures for the public, such as debt suspension, are ready, Anutin did not answer but nodded twice. Asked when these would be proposed to the Cabinet, he said: "As soon as possible."

Reporters also asked about Newin Chidchob, chairman of Buriram United Football Club, blessing him to be Prime Minister for another two terms. Anutin smiled broadly but did not respond to the question.
