Sampit Unaware of Son-in-Laws Profession, Advises Daughter to Be Strong and Handle Social Scrutiny

Sampit has not yet discussed his son-in-law's profession due to limited English proficiency. He said he is not worried and advises his daughter to be strong and clear things up with society. He declined to comment on internal party members allegedly undermining his ministerial appointment.

On 6 Oct 2026, Sampit Tansap, MP for Chaiyaphum from the Bhumjaithai Party, addressed the scrutiny over his daughter, Suchada Sang Tansap, MP for Chaiyaphum, regarding her husband's profession and assets linked to a scammer network. He said all opinions must be heard and clarified clearly for society, emphasizing it is not a matter of concern.

When asked if he had spoken to his son-in-law, Sampit said he is not fluent in English, so communication goes through his daughter. He noted this is a serious matter, with government agencies responsible for investigation, following legal and judicial processes. He believes official statements from authorities should be the most accurate and factual.

Asked if his daughter would provide clarifications, Sampit confirmed she would, as she knows the facts best and is confident she has done nothing illegal. He said he told her to present evidence and she is willing to explain everything.

Regarding rumors of internal party attempts to block his ministerial appointment, Sampit said he only recently saw such news, doubts their truth, and prefers not to comment to avoid escalating the issue. When asked if the party had questioned him, he said no and that his daughter should handle the public clarifications. He added that, as a public figure, she must accept criticism and has a duty to respond.

Asked if he was confident his son-in-law could clear his name, Sampit reiterated that government agencies' findings would be the most accurate and would resolve the issue.

When asked if there were concerns about government MPs protecting each other, Sampit said it is clear that anyone who breaks the law, whether government or opposition, cannot deny wrongdoing if there is evidence.

Regarding social media scrutiny of his daughter, Sampit said from the beginning as an MP, she had to be prepared for criticism. He emphasized his daughter must be strong and clarify matters with society.

When asked if he had vetted his son-in-law before his daughter's marriage, Sampit said he did not interfere. Asked if locals had inquired, he said many have offered support and thanked them, expressing confidence his daughter can clarify all issues.
