Cabinet Approves Extension of Emergency Decree in Three Southern Border Provinces for Another Three Months

The Cabinet has approved extending the emergency decree in the three southern border provinces for another three months, from 20 October 2026 to 19 January 2027.


On 6 October 2026, Ms. Ploytale Laksamee Sangchan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the Cabinet resolved to extend the emergency decree covering Narathiwat Province—excluding Yi Ngo, Waeng, and Sukhirin districts; Pattani Province—excluding Yaring, Panare, Mayo, Mai Kaen, Thung Yang Daeng, Kapho, and Maelan districts; and Yala Province—excluding Betong, Yaha, Raman, Kabang, and Krong Pinang districts. This extension is for another three months, from 20 October 2026 to 19 January 2027, marking the 86th such extension.


The Cabinet also approved the draft proclamation regarding the extension of the emergency decree covering Narathiwat Province—excluding Yi Ngo, Waeng, and Sukhirin districts; Pattani Province—excluding Yaring, Panare, Mayo, Mai Kaen, Thung Yang Daeng, Kapho, and Maelan districts; and Yala Province—excluding Betong, Yaha, Raman, Kabang, and Krong Pinang districts.


Additionally, the Cabinet approved the draft proclamation to maintain the enforcement of orders issued under the emergency decree and acknowledged the draft proclamation ensuring that orders and directives issued by the Prime Minister under the emergency decree remain in effect.
