DDPM Teams Up with Bangkok to Revive Romklao Housing Estate Je Setth Goes Door-to-Door to Help with Relief Registration

"Je Setth" leads DDPM in partnership with Bangkok to restore Romklao Housing Estate, going door-to-door to assist with relief registration. He stressed the importance of aid reaching everyone and insisted that efforts must enable people to truly resume their lives, not just end when the waters recede.

On 6 October 2026 at 16:30 GMT+7, Deputy Minister of Interior Je Setth Thaisetth (Interior Ministry Deputy Minister 3) visited Romklao Housing Estate community in Lat Krabang district, Bangkok, to monitor recovery efforts following flooding. Staff from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) Regional Center 14 in Udon Thani were fully deployed to support Bangkok's restoration mission, providing personnel and operational assistance on site to expedite returning the area to normal for residents as soon as possible.

Je Setth said that once floodwaters began to recede, the key task became quickly restoring the area for use. DDPM mobilized support from Regional Center 14 in Udon Thani to assist Bangkok, integrating efforts with district offices and local agencies to address affected sites and minimize residents' burdens.

"Recovery must enable people to truly resume their lives, not just end when the floodwaters go down. Today, DDPM from Regional Center 14 in Udon Thani is fully supporting Bangkok. We will work swiftly together to return the area to normal as soon as possible."

He also emphasized the importance of relief payments for flood victims, instructing all agencies and provinces to actively publicize and explain the process directly to residents. Officials should provide information and facilitate registration and eligibility checks, especially for elderly people and those unable to register themselves online.

"I have stressed to all parties, including every province, that the relief funds must be clearly communicated to the people. Since residents have already suffered from flooding, we must not let them face further difficulties with registration or accessing their rights. We must make all procedures clear and as convenient as possible."

He further ordered officials to urgently survey, verify, and update data on affected individuals continuously, while facilitating relief fund registration to ensure everyone entitled receives assistance without omission. Je Setth reiterated that current efforts must combine recovery with relief. DDPM will continue fully supporting Bangkok by mobilizing resources from Regional Center 14 in Udon Thani and coordinating all relevant agencies to restore normal conditions quickly and help residents return to safe, normal lives as soon as possible.
