“Tawee” Teams Up with Private Sector to Offer Free Engine Oil Changes for Riders After Ramkhamhaeng Floods

“Tawee” highlights the spirit of not abandoning each other in hardship, teaming up with the private sector to support riders with free engine oil changes after the Ramkhamhaeng floods, and advancing the Rider Protection Act.

On 6 October 2026 at the Darul Quran Center, Ramkhamhaeng 81, a rider group organized a free engine oil change project to assist and provide relief to those affected by severe flooding in Bangkok. The event was supported by the Prachachart Party, led by Pol. Col. Tawee Sodsong, party leader and party-list MP, along with Kamolsak Liwamo, Narathiwat MP from the Prachachart Party, and private sector partners.

The project received engine oil and gear oil support for motorcycles from Siamphan Group Public Company Limited, including TRANE Thunder Power 10W-40 4-stroke motorcycle engine oil and TRANE Trans Axle GL-5 80W-90 gear and final drive oil. These products were provided for riders to offer free oil changes to those affected by the flooding in the Ramkhamhaeng area.

Motorcycles belonging to riders and local residents continuously queued for the service, reflecting the urgent need for assistance as many families suffered from the flood situation and rely heavily on motorcycles for their work and daily transportation.

Busri Wako, a representative of the rider group, expressed gratitude to Pol. Col. Tawee, the Prachachart Party, and supporting businesses. He noted that Pol. Col. Tawee has consistently supported and stood by the riders, from the Talaraider group’s Maulid Nabi event on 12 September through the flooding period, visiting and encouraging riders from the earliest stages.

“Many thanks to Pol. Col. Tawee for standing by us, from the Talaraider Maulid Nabi event to the flood period. From the beginning, when we started helping each other, he came along with other MPs. Today we sincerely thank him and also the engine oil businesses for their support,” the rider group representative said.

Pol. Col. Tawee stated that the Prachachart Party remains committed to supporting flood-affected citizens, especially daily wage workers directly impacted by the floods. He praised the resilience of the Ramkhamhaeng community, which united to help each other. The Ramkhamhaeng and Bang Kapi areas were heavily flooded, particularly near Khlong Saen Saep, with water levels higher than previously seen, affecting many residents’ income and livelihoods.

“What is admirable is that we help each other; some households not flooded cooked meals to distribute. This shows beautiful unity, care, and looking after one another like a single family,” Pol. Col. Tawee said.

The party leader also highlighted the importance of riders as key contributors to the city’s economy and daily life. He revealed plans to promote the Rider Protection Act to ensure security and fairness for this group of workers. Currently, feedback is being gathered from riders and platform operators to create balanced, practical legislation.

“Today, city dwellers rely on riders for food delivery and other services, yet many face issues like accidents and work challenges. Soon we will have a specific Rider Protection Act to ensure fairness for them,” Pol. Col. Tawee said.

Meanwhile, Kamolsak Liwamo, Narathiwat MP from the Prachachart Party, thanked Pol. Col. Tawee and the supporting businesses. He noted that many riders are migrants from the three southern border provinces who have come to Bangkok for work and play a vital role in the capital’s economy. He believes the flood crisis has impacted many sectors and illustrates how these southern migrants are essential cogs in the city’s economy, whether as riders, airline staff, or other professions.

“Clearly, our southern border province brothers and sisters form a significant part of Bangkok’s economy. Today, I thank the riders on their behalf, thank Pol. Col. Tawee for his care, and thank the businesses that provided engine oil to the riders,” Kamolsak said.
