The Meteorological Department reports that rain is shifting from the eastern to the western parts of the country. On 8 Oct, the southern region will experience thunderstorms and hail; on 9 Oct, heavy rain is expected in the lower northeastern region; on 11 Oct, Phetchaburi will see heavy rainfall; and the lower southern region will face heavy rain on 13 Oct.
On 7 October 2026, Mr. Fata Marsatavee, a specialist in meteorological forecasting system development, stated at the joint flood situation information center press briefing at the Government House's Nareesamorn Building that as the high-pressure system begins to move in, rain will shift from the eastern to the western part of the country and is currently located along the western region.
On 8 October, the southern region will continue to have rain because this period marks the end of the rainy season. Thailand will experience unstable weather conditions with thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, and hail.
On 9 October, heavy to very heavy rain will occur in the lower northeastern region, especially in Ubon Ratchathani, Buriram, Sisaket, and Surin provinces, as well as the eastern side of the southern region.
On 10 October, rain is expected in the lower northern region, lower northeastern region, central region, Bangkok and vicinity, eastern region, and southern region. In the north, areas in Tak and Kamphaeng Phet provinces will be affected.
On 11 October, rain will be present along the western coastlines, lower northern region including Tak province, as well as Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Bangkok and vicinity. Phetchaburi province will experience especially heavy rain.
On 12 October, although there will still be some rain in the lower central region, it will be light with no heavy rainfall, including the western side of the southern region. Afterwards, rainfall will gradually decrease.
On 13 October, heavy rain will occur in the lower southern region, particularly in Pattani and Narathiwat provinces.
