10 October 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Julapan Amornwiwat, Minister of Labor, presided over the readiness inspection for the election of employer and insured representatives to the Social Security Board before the actual voting day at the Social Security Office, Bangkok Area 3, and polling units within the Ministry of Labor. He was accompanied by Police Lieutenant Colonel Wannaphong Kotcharak, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labor; Mr. Kokaeo Pikulthong, Chairman of the Minister’s Working Group; Mr. Surachart Thianthong, Secretary to the Minister of Labor; Ms. Jirapha Bunrat, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office; Mr. Phiphatchai Paiboon, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor (Political Affairs); Ms. Thidarat Yingcharoen and Ms. Boonyakorn Damrongrat, Advisors to the Minister; along with executives from the Social Security Office.
Mr. Julapan stated, that the Ministry of Labor is fully prepared for the Social Security Board election, scheduled nationwide on Sunday, 11 October 2026, from 08:00 to 16:00. More than 5,233 polling stations have been arranged across the country, staffed with officials and supported by systems to ensure efficient and transparent voting.
Regarding concerns about heavy rain or disasters, the Labor Minister said, a contingency plan is ready. Should any area be officially declared a disaster zone, making it impossible to hold voting there, the election committee will immediately relocate the polling station to a nearby safe district or area. Safety and voter convenience are the top priorities, and announcements about new locations will be made promptly. He also urged voters to follow these guidelines:
- Check voting rights and polling locations in advance, as individual polling stations may differ. This can be done via the website, www.sso.go.th or through the SSO Plus application.
- Prepare identification documents as specified by the Social Security Office and allow sufficient time to travel to the polling station.
Additionally, to promote transparency and public participation, the Social Security Office invites the public to observe the election at polling stations nationwide and has launched an unofficial election results Dashboard on the website, www.sso.go.th and other designated communication channels, where vote counts can be followed after the polls close at 16:00. The system includes filters by province and district to help insured persons, employers, and the general public systematically track vote counting progress.
Media are allowed to photograph or record the receipt of election materials for transparency purposes but are not permitted within areas where election committee members are performing their duties during material receipt, to ensure smooth operations.
“The Social Security Office is fully ready to conduct the election. We invite all eligible voters to exercise their rights correctly, transparently, and with respect for the rules, to collectively shape the future direction of the social security system.”
