At 10:00 a.m. on 12 Oct 2026 at the Government House, Mr. Wisanu Charoen, Director of the Drainage Engineering Division at Bangkok's Drainage Department, announced at the Joint Information Center for Flood Situations (JICC) that on 9 Oct, the Bangkok Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command Center declared the flood-affected areas reduced to 8 districts: Khlong Sam Wa, Bueng Kum, Prawet, Min Buri, Lat Krabang, Saphan Sung, Sai Mai, and Nong Chok. In eastern Bangkok, the city is closely monitoring the water situation and continuously discharging water into the Chao Phraya River. If water levels in the main eastern canals fall to normal and have capacity for more water, they will consider accepting water from outside areas to help drain through Bangkok's canal system.

Mr. Wisanu said that restoration efforts in Lat Krabang district focus on waste collection. Currently, Bangkok has accelerated cleanup at the Romklao Housing Community, having collected over 5,000 tons of waste. Officials from multiple agencies, machinery, and garbage trucks have been mobilized to expedite the process so residents can return to normal life. Overall, large waste collection in flood-affected areas has exceeded 10,000 tons, averaging about 800 tons per day.

Regarding online registration for relief aid, Mr. Wisanu stated that since registration opened until 8:00 a.m. on 12 Oct 2026, 83,268 people have registered. The top three districts with the most registrants are Lat Krabang, Bang Kapi, and Sai Mai. The most requested assistance includes home repair costs and occupational equipment grants.
