The NACC is intensively investigating 'Idea's' assets, probing suspicions over the failure to report luxury watches, possible inconsistencies between assets and income, and concealment of the husband's occupation.
On 12 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Sakchai Jan-saengwattana, Assistant Secretary-General of the NACC, addressed public concerns regarding the asset and debt declarations of Ms. Suchada Sang Tangsub, Chaiyaphum MP from the Bhumjaithai Party, and her Australian husband, Mr. Taiyang Sang. The NACC had already been examining related issues by reviewing Ms. Suchada's asset declarations from her time as secretary to the Minister of Digital Economy and Society due to observed irregularities. The NACC is not complacent and is scrutinizing concerns such as income, debt repayments, loan payments, and other asset items not previously reported in the media. However, they will hear the declarant's explanations. It was emphasized that the investigation is not limited to Ms. Suchada's assets alone but includes several others.
Probing the issue of undisclosed luxury watches.
Mr. Sakchai said the investigation into Ms. Suchada's luxury watch, which was not listed in her asset declaration, is ongoing. The NACC is reviewing whether the timing when the watch appeared in the news coincides with her tenure in any official position, possibly during a transitional period before submitting asset declarations. She had already submitted asset declarations including some watches during her secretary role, but the watch in question requires further explanation from Ms. Suchada.
Suspicions that assets do not align with declared income.
Mr. Kiattisak Puthphan, Deputy Secretary-General of the NACC, stated that there are concerns about Ms. Suchada's assets being inconsistent with her income, potentially due to inaccurate, false, or omitted declarations, or concealment of facts. Her husband is also required to declare assets and liabilities, but Ms. Suchada did not specify his occupation. When asked if the asset declaration included shares in a gambling website in Curaçao, Mr. Sakchai said they need to verify the information first. The issue of gambling website shareholding requires further review to determine the actual facts and the proportion of shares held. If false asset declarations are found, the NACC will issue charges; however, the first step is to allow the declarant to clarify. The NACC will follow regulations with an initial investigation period of 60 days, extendable by 30 days. If irregularities are found, there is an additional 180-day period as stipulated by the rules.
