The Social Security Office (SSO) reveals the timeline following the Social Security Board election, moving forward with vote certification before proposing appointments for the new board members.
On 14 October 2026, the Social Security Office (SSO) announced the post-election procedures following the election of employer and insured representatives to the Social Security Board held on 11 October 2026. The SSO outlined the operational timeline covering provincial vote reporting, vote verification, announcement of consolidated election results, publication of reserve candidate lists, handling objections, and proposing appointments—all to ensure the process follows established steps and criteria.
By 19 October 2026, provincial and Bangkok election committees will submit their provincial-level vote reports. Then, between 20 and 30 October 2026, the Social Security Office will verify the vote results and prepare a report consolidating election scores ranked from highest to lowest according to candidate numbers. This report will be submitted to the Election Commission for consideration and publication of the consolidated election results for employer representatives (form SSO.ST. 2/18), insured representatives (form SSO.ST. 2/19), and the reserve candidate list.
Within November 2026, the Social Security Office will conduct a meeting to finalize the consolidated vote results and submit them to the Election Commission to certify the election results. Following approval, the commission will announce the final election results and the reserve candidate lists for both employer and insured representatives.
After this announcement, candidates and voters who have cast their ballots may submit written objections to the Election Commission within 7 days of the announcement if they wish to contest the appointment of any elected board member. If no objections are filed, the Social Security Office will propose the top seven highest-scoring candidates from each side to the Minister of Labor for appointment as board members of the Social Security Board.
The Social Security Office stated it will proceed in accordance with all relevant steps and criteria to ensure that the appointment of employer and insured representatives to the Social Security Board is conducted properly, transparently, and with accountability.
