“Supanat” Complains State App Lacks Photo Attachment Feature, Causing Delays in Flood Relief Approval, Urges Government to Fix It Quickly

Supanat Meenachainan complains that the 'State Route' app lacks a photo attachment function, causing delays in flood relief approvals. He urges the government to fix this promptly and warns that the relief fund is nearly depleted, calling on the Cabinet to urgently increase the budget for aid.

On 15 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Supanat Meenachainan, MP for Bangkok's 9th district from the People’s Party, reported on the progress of flood relief payments for Bangkok residents. He revealed that 799,504 applications have been submitted (some possibly duplicate within families), with 205,036 households approved (26%) and 165,054 households (20%) having received payments.

Supanat explained that the main cause of delays is that when residents report floodwater in their homes lasting no more than seven days with damage, the term 'damage' requires photo evidence for review. However, since the State Route app lacks a photo attachment function, officials must return cases for additional photos, halting the approval process.

To address this issue, Supanat proposed two urgent measures:

1. He requested the government promptly add a photo attachment feature in the State Route app and enable those who have already applied to upload photos gradually. He has communicated this problem and recommendation to the Deputy Minister of the Interior.

2. For those who applied for the 9,000 baht relief via the State Route app, he advised submitting additional requests through the website claim.bangkok.go.th for home repair aid up to 88,600 baht, attaching photos of flood damage. Officials can use this data for consideration or contact applicants via LINE ID to request photos for further review.

Supanat also noted that besides system issues, according to the Cabinet resolution approving a total relief fund of 5,291 million baht—4,700 million baht shared by Bangkok and over 60 provinces plus 591 million baht in other funds—3,000 million baht has already been used (helping around 390,000 households). Only 2,291 million baht remains, which can assist about 300,000 more households.

Meanwhile, Bangkok still has 630,000 cases pending review and payment, excluding hundreds of thousands more in other provinces. It is expected the budget will reach its limit within 1-2 weeks per the original Cabinet resolution. Therefore, he urged the Cabinet to urgently approve an additional round of relief funds to ensure sufficient budget to aid all affected residents comprehensively.
