Chairman of Pheu Thai MPs to Hear Oppositions No-Confidence Debate Before Voting

Wisuth, Chairman of Pheu Thai MPs, said he will listen to the opposition's no-confidence debate before raising his hand to vote, emphasizing that Pheu Thai has no concerns since none of its ministers are being questioned.

On 17 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Wisuth Chainarun, party-list MP and Chairman of Pheu Thai MPs, spoke about the government no-confidence debate scheduled for 27-29 Oct 2026 with voting on 30 Oct 2026. He said that as MPs, they must first hear the opposition's debate because they are not responsible for answering questions on behalf of ministers. As representatives, their duty is to listen to the opposition’s arguments and see what key points they present. It is normal for the opposition to perform their role by accusing the government and revealing information to the public about any government wrongdoing or irregularities in projects, rather than praising the government.

Regarding possible protests by government MPs, he said these might occur if the opposition debates excessively or violates parliamentary rules, which is normal. Pheu Thai has no worries because none of their ministers are being questioned. Therefore, their role is to listen to the opposition’s debate, while the questioned ministers must prepare thoroughly and fully explain. As for the vote, they will listen to both the opposition’s information and the government’s responses before deciding.
