Julapan Amornwiwat affirmed that Pheu Thai has no issues with the no-confidence vote, advising against making assumptions about events that have not yet occurred. He noted the potential combined support from the Kla Party but stressed that the ultimate decision lies with the Prime Minister. He acknowledged that no discussions have taken place yet regarding this matter.
At 09:30 on 20 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Julapan Amornwiwat, Minister of Labour and leader of Pheu Thai Party, spoke at the Government House about the party’s stance on the no-confidence debate. He stated that as part of the government, if questions arise about government or cabinet performance, he trusts all actions comply with legal frameworks. He noted that cabinet meetings have jointly approved actions and expressed confidence that ministers under scrutiny can explain their duties fully. He added that the no-confidence debate process is well established, and the cabinet members are experienced, having faced such situations multiple times, so they should be able to explain to society effectively.
When asked if there would be any issues with the voting, Julapan replied, “There won’t be any. We are together as a coalition government. There is nothing to worry or doubt about. Voting is, of course, the right of each member, but political courtesy means supporting and moving forward together.”
Regarding concerns about alleged collusion in the Senate, which Pheu Thai previously opposed, and whether Pheu Thai would still vote in favor, Julapan said they must wait for the debate. He noted that the collusion process has passed several steps, including actions by the Election Commission, which are mostly complete. He reaffirmed the principle and the process followed so far.
, When asked if there were any issues where Pheu Thai would withhold trust, Julapan stated, “There are none. We just have to wait and listen.” Pressed further on whether that included corruption issues, Julapan replied that they must wait and that there is probably nothing to worry about. He urged not to assume things that have not happened yet.
Regarding rumors that the Kla Party might join the government, Julapan revealed that no discussions have occurred yet. As coalition partners, they will have further internal government processes. Initially, this is not harmful and can be done, potentially strengthening their numbers, but talks must take place. Nevertheless, he reaffirmed that Pheu Thai continues its work and stands by its existing agreements.
When asked if this meant others should not interfere with Pheu Thai’s ministries, Julapan confirmed this, noting that preliminary discussions have already occurred. As for the Kla Party, he candidly said no discussions have yet happened and emphasized that this matter is the Prime Minister’s exclusive authority and decision to consider.
