Supachai Unfazed by Rumors of Cabinet Dismissal, Calls It PMs Prerogative

Supachai is not worried about being removed from the cabinet, stating it is the Prime Minister's authority. She insists she is not giving up because she works every day and is unbothered by the no-confidence debate.

On 20 Oct 2026 at 15:00 at the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters, Supachai Suthamphan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, addressed rumors of a ministerial reshuffle at the waterfront ministry, saying she was unaware of any such plans. When asked if she was discouraged, Supachai said, "No, I work every day." Regarding preparations for the no-confidence debate, she said it provides an opportunity to explain what has been done and that she was not nervous. She noted that claims about the high cost of living and expensive goods require explanation, and she saw nothing unusual about this. Asked if she felt pressured as a first-time minister facing a no-confidence debate, she replied it was an opportunity to clarify and understood the opposition’s role to question while hers is to explain. When questioned about speculation of a cabinet reshuffle after the debate, she said she had no concerns, emphasizing that cabinet changes are the Prime Minister’s prerogative.
