Samrit, father of MP Idea, revealed that his daughter's morale remains good and she sees no need to explain to local people. He said villagers are happy comparing her work to that of past MPs and does not believe the party will cut ties or that insiders are leaking information; he considers such talk mere rumors scattered around.
On 20 October 2026 at the Bhumjaithai Party, Samrit Thansap, MP for Chaiyaphum from Bhumjaithai, commented on the case where Ms. Suchada Sang Thansap, MP for Chaiyaphum, and her husband Taiyang Sang met with investigators from the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) regarding shareholding linked to online gambling websites and scammer networks, saying he saw the news on TV and it aligns with what his daughter has stated.
Regarding rumors that party insiders leaked information to the opposition, Samrit said, as his daughter mentioned, this is more a political issue. Since there is no news about cabinet reshuffles, everyone is working diligently. He also said he never thought about providing any information and considers these just ongoing rumors.
When asked about former Democrat MP Sirichok Sopa continuously raising issues about MP Idea, Samrit said Sirichok likely understands, as does everyone, that opposition members naturally critique the government’s work. Asked if he still trusts his daughter and son-in-law, Samrit said the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has already made statements, and today the DSI summoned MP Idea’s husband for information. He believes the public should await the state agencies’ investigations for clarity and to avoid social confusion.
Regarding the NACC’s statement that MP Idea’s asset declarations show income inconsistent with her assets, Samrit said last week’s announcement is normal since asset inconsistencies occur with many politicians, not only MP Idea. The outcome depends on the investigation results to ensure correctness. He believes society will stop being confused once the NACC and DSI provide explanations.
Asked how he encourages his daughter amid heavy criticism, Samrit said MP Idea’s morale remains high. When visiting the area, people welcome and support her. From 22 to 25 October, she plans to join the Boon Krathup Out-Pha Festival activities in the community.
She will participate alongside local residents.
Asked if she needs to clarify the legal case to locals, Samrit said no, because from what he sees, the people of Chaiyaphum have no issues and continue to appreciate MP Idea’s work. Comparing her to former MPs, she clearly shows more diligence, and locals feel happy and unconcerned.
Regarding rumors that Bhumjaithai Party might drop MP Idea, Samrit denied this, saying it is each person’s opinion, but in reality, she continues her activities with the party as usual.
