Thanakorn Advises Rom to Focus on Content, Not Days or Speakers in No-Confidence Debate

Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana advised the opposition that the no-confidence debate should focus on content rather than the number of days or speakers. He added that focusing on creating political rhetoric only wastes the public's time who must endure listening. He reaffirmed that the government is united and cohesive, so there is no need to worry on its behalf.

21 Oct 2026 GMT+7 Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana Member of Parliament (MP) from the party-list for Bhumjaithai Party and former Minister of Industry, gave an interview regarding Rangsiman Rome party-list MP of the Move Forward Party, who insisted that the no-confidence debate should last five days due to the number of ministers and speakers involved. Thanakorn said they made a mistake from the very start. Instead of focusing on content and covering all issues comprehensively, the opposition prioritized the number of days to gain popularity without regard for the facts. This only causes boredom among citizens waiting to hear the truth from the debate, wasting time and effort. So far, there has been much hype about secret information, but when the time comes, they fail every time. Therefore, he urges the opposition to focus on quality over quantity so the public can truly benefit.

Regarding the opposition's claim of discord or lack of harmony within the blue camp, Thanakorn said the opposition should focus on saving themselves first. They boast a lot but later claim they are blocked from providing information to try to save face. The government under Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is united and cohesive, especially with Bhumjaithai Party being unified. The opposition should not worry about this.

"If the opposition uses the no-confidence debate honestly, it will be effective and beneficial to the people. But if they focus on creating rhetoric and mudslinging, it only wastes the public’s time who have to endure listening. I confirm the government is ready for scrutiny. If they have solid evidence, they should pursue legal channels available, rather than claiming many uncontrollable factors. At least controlling their own behavior would still benefit the people."
