He lamented being linked to MP Idea's case and firmly denied involvement in gambling or any illicit businesses. He also noted a clear difference in ministerial statements between the two cases.

21 October 2026 at the Parliament building. Mr. Paowat Pongwittayapanu. A Member of Parliament (MP) from the Prachachon Party, he gave an interview regarding the progress of. the Forex case. He said he has been meeting with prosecutors as part of the process and has not fled anywhere. He has been following the procedures from the very beginning, without hiding or running away, and has no concerns.

At the same time, he has been following media reports about. Ms. Suchada Sang Thanthap, or Idea, an MP from Chaiyaphum representing the Bhumjaithai Party, who has referenced him, questioning whether Paowat is a scammer or involved in gambling. He reiterated that he is not involved in Forex business, gambling, or any illicit businesses. He has submitted all information to the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), which in turn has forwarded it to the prosecutors.

When asked whether the comparison with Ms. Suchada's case might be a political move, Paowat responded that it is possible because both are MPs facing similar cases. However, a difference is that in his case, there are over 50 people involved. He said he is just one among them and not the main figure or Forex operator, yet has been portrayed as the leader of the case despite being a minor figure with no direct involvement. Money did flow through, but the other case may differ. He also noted a distinct difference in the ministers' statements between the cases. He preferred not to say more to avoid further news coverage. .
