Thisana Criticizes Ice as Ungrateful, Urges Having Own Principles, Citing Piyabutr as Politically Clear

Thisana criticized Ice Rakchanok as ungrateful, advising her to develop her own principles first. She cited Piyabutr as someone with a clear political stance and pointed out that rejecting personality worship does not mean being ungrateful to those who helped establish political ideals from the start of the movement.,

On 21 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Thisana Chunhawun, former Bangkok MP from the People’s Party, posted on Facebook about Ms. Rakchanok Srinoak, a party-list MP from the People’s Party, who declared that one thing she has definitely stopped doing in life is worshipping personalities. Thisana commented that the phrase means... "not worshipping personalities" only holds meaning if the speaker has their own "principles" first. Not being attached to individuals doesn’t mean one can shift positions with every trend. Otherwise, it’s like a "pole stuck in mud," swaying with the wind without any intellectual foundation.

The key point is that Professor Pok Piyabutr Saengkanokkul is a person with very clear political principles and stance. Whether one agrees or disagrees, at least they should acknowledge that he has a solid intellectual foundation, understands political philosophy, and can systematically explain his reasons for his positions.

As for those who talk about "not worshipping personalities" they themselves lack backbone or any principles. Even when I questioned whether they truly understand the difference between left and right in political science, or grasp what political ideology means, it seems they just borrow appealing words to justify their own shifting stances day by day. Having one’s own thoughts is not about rejecting principled individuals, but having enough principles to explain why one agrees or disagrees with others.

Don’t confuse "intellectual independence" with "lack of principles" because these two are completely different.

Importantly, rejecting personality worship does not mean we must be ungrateful intellectually to those who helped build political ideals from the beginning.

Rejecting personality worship is correct, but having no principles of one’s own is not a political virtue in any way. In one word, "ungratefulness" because one alone could never have created the party. Initially, they just clung to the party leaders’ spotlight. After the social security issue arose—information which also came from others, not their own work—they raised themselves above the party founders.
