“Teng Nattapong” denied rumors of a split within the Prachachon Party, stating that differences of opinion are normal. He stressed that political communication must be unified and said he is not concerned about any impact on the upcoming no-confidence debate, warning members not to open the door for opponents to launch political attacks against them.
At 10:00 a.m. on 22 Oct 2026 at the parliament, Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, party-list MP and leader of the Prachachon Party, commented on rumors of a rift within the party following the revelation of a chat message in the party's MP Line group. He said it was unrelated to any split and confirmed that differing detailed opinions in any matter are very normal. Internal discussion forums are important platforms the party has always used to find common ground.
When asked how to increase party unity, Nattapong said that the unity he has communicated does not mean representatives or party members lose their right to express their own opinions in public forums. Since the party identifies as a mass party committed to freedom and democracy, everyone has the right to express themselves freely.
He added that being a politician differs from other professions that allow more freedom of expression. One must adapt. Defining oneself as part of the Prachachon Party means political expression, which sometimes involves complex issues, such as the rumored rift mentioned.
“Some expressions might be twisted by political opponents into attacks, weakening our political communication. Therefore, in politics, I believe all current party members understand these rules well and know how to represent and communicate politically in a unified way, including how to conduct themselves and communicate appropriately,” Nattapong said.
When asked if this would affect the no-confidence debate, Nattapong responded, “Probably not. We will use the interrogation platform to show Thai society how the current government’s administration, now called the Blue Regime, poses a threat to democracy.”
