The Prime Minister discussed with security officials the framework for joint work on the southern border, revealing his order for the National Police Chief to monitor the protest situation in France closely and watch carefully to prevent such events from happening in Thailand, noting the different social contexts there.
At 12:40 p.m. on 22 Oct 2026 GMT+7 at the Government House, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul disclosed that earlier, General Chaipruk Duangprapat, the newly appointed National Security Council Secretary-General, convened a meeting with military commanders, security, intelligence, and administrative officials to strengthen understanding and establish a consensus strategy to operate under a unified plan.
When asked whether he had been monitoring the protest situation in France, the Prime Minister said that since the incidents began, he immediately called Police General Samran Nuanma, the National Police Chief, instructing him to closely follow the situation and remain vigilant to prevent such incidents, escalation, or related claims. He requested vigilance to ensure these events do not occur in Thailand, emphasizing that Thailand does not have internal conflicts of that nature, and many differences exist. Thai people are unified; the country does not have diverse nationalities or cultures living within it. He believes that Thai society lives in peace and unity. However, as the National Police Chief is responsible for national security and public order, he must study and plan accordingly.
