Attakorn declared that Kla Tham will not be silenced in the no-confidence debate. He emphasized their legal right to use opposition debate time proportionally and warned that if time is not shared, they will have to fight for it. He said it cannot be prohibited for MPs to either praise or criticize the government, as that is each person's right.
On 22 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Attakorn Sirilattayakorn, MP for Chachoengsao and spokesperson for the Kla Tham Party, spoke about the no-confidence debate framework after the joint parliamentary whip committee (Wip 3-party) meeting failed for the second time. He said he tried to propose ideas at the meeting, but both sides still had differing views. He said it remains to be seen what stance the government whip will take. Attakorn stated that he does not believe either side will get exactly what they want and that resolving this will require cooperation from both sides, involving mutual compromise.
Regarding Kla Tham Party's request for time to debate, whether using government or opposition debate time, Attakorn said that under current law, Kla Tham still holds opposition status. He believes this is a right of its members, as the party's MPs account for 12-13% of the parliament, giving them the right to express opinions on the motions submitted.
When asked if they will support opposition motions or assist government explanations, Attakorn said he could not answer that and would not force MPs to either praise or criticize the government, as he cannot compel party members.
If opposition parties refuse to allocate Kla Tham time within the opposition's debate quota, Attakorn said they will have to fight for it. He believes everyone is equal today, and Kla Tham has the right to use the parliamentary platform to reflect ideas, especially concerning problems affecting the people and reaching the government. Kla Tham insists that their debate will align with the motions submitted by the opposition and will not stray beyond those motions. However, opinions cannot be forced upon them.
When asked how much time Kla Tham wants, Attakorn said he does not want much but enough. When asked what they would do if the opposition does not grant time to Kla Tham, he replied, "Then we will have to fight for it."
Regarding whether the opposition's proposed debate duration of 4-5 days is appropriate, Attakorn said it depends on perspective. He views that whether the time is more or less depends on the readiness and clarity of the Cabinet and parliament about when to submit motions and whether debate time can be shortened. He added that being an MP involves only a slight reduction in time use, and he believes content will not diminish, especially since the People’s Party and Democrat Party already cover their debate comprehensively. Therefore, a slight reduction in time should not affect debate effectiveness.
When asked about voting, Attakorn said there will be discussions beforehand, and Kla Tham always has internal talks first.
