The Speaker of the House has scheduled a parliamentary session for 28-29 October as a regular agenda to discuss motions and live questions, with no special agenda for a no-confidence debate against the government. Meanwhile, Karavee reported that the three-party whip meeting has not reached a conclusion on the no-confidence debate date, emphasizing the need for a 4+1 day framework to proceed.
On 22 October 2026, reporters at the parliament reported that Mr. Sophon Sarum, the Speaker of the House, signed a letter calling a parliamentary session on 28-29 October as a regular agenda to consider bills, motions, and live questions. This session is not designated as a special meeting to consider a motion for a general debate and vote of no confidence against individual ministers under Section 151 of the Constitution, as requested by the opposition coalition led by Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, a party-list MP and leader of the People's Party, in his role as opposition leader.
Mr. Karavee Prisananantakul, MP for Ang Thong from the Bhumjaithai Party and chairman of the government's whip committee, said in an interview on the evening of 22 October that he informed Mr. Sophon of the results from the three-party whip meeting—which includes the opposition, the government, and Cabinet representatives—that no conclusion was reached regarding the date for the no-confidence debate. Therefore, it is up to Mr. Sophon to decide the parliamentary agenda next week. Initially, the government whip reported that the Cabinet is available for the no-confidence debate from 26 to 29 October, with a vote scheduled for 30 October.
"The debate period will last four days, totaling 63 hours and 30 minutes, with the opposition allotted 45 to 48 hours and the remaining time allocated for Cabinet explanations. If included in the parliamentary agenda, each day’s session will begin in the morning and continue until 2 a.m. the following day," Mr. Karavee said.
