The Democrat Party Deputy Spokesperson reflected the voices of southern citizens shouting, "We can't bear it anymore," after diesel prices surged nearly 10 baht per liter within three months.
On 25 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Duangrutai Buakaew, Deputy Spokesperson of the Democrat Party, stated that from listening to feedback, especially from the southern region, everyone expresses the same sentiment: "We can't bear it anymore." Diesel prices have risen by nearly 10 baht per liter in the past three months, broadly affecting all occupations, including farmers, rubber and palm oil growers who must bear higher transportation costs for their products, fishermen burdened with rising boat fuel expenses, as well as merchants and the general public facing soaring prices of consumer goods.
The Democrat Party Deputy Spokesperson emphasized that the government must have clear and concrete strategies to solve the energy price problem and control product prices. She posed direct questions to the administration seeking clear answers on three main points:
1. What measures will the government implement to assist the people?
2. When will the government begin providing serious assistance?
3. Who is responsible for the continuously rising cost of living burden?
, "I want the government to clearly answer how they will help the people, when they will provide help, and who will take responsibility for the continuously increasing cost of living," Ms. Duangrutai said.
Ms. Duangrutai also conveyed the heartfelt feelings and genuine messages from southern residents to the government in the local dialect: "We have had no money to spend for a long time now. Government, please solve our problems." This emphasizes that the people are facing severe liquidity shortages and lack the strength to sustain themselves amid the economic crisis, calling on the government to urgently address the issue as soon as possible.
