Slip of 7-Million Baht Tea Money: Theng Calls for Further Verification Before Expansion

"Theng Natthapong" requests additional information verification first regarding the 7-million baht tea money slip case, urging not to expand the issue yet. He notes that the widespread sharing reflects public distrust in the government.

26 Oct 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Natthapong Rueangpanyawut Member of Parliament from the party list, leader of the People's Party, and opposition leader in the House of Representatives, spoke about the case involving a Facebook page Godd Dam which posted an image of a money transfer slip for 7 million baht, claiming it was money referred to as "tea money", transferred into the account of Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, saying he requests further verification, affirming that if any facts are found, we will inevitably be subject to investigation.

Regarding the People's Party MPs sharing the post before confirming its truthfulness, Natthapong said they will try to verify the information and asked for time to do so. When asked if this was an attempt by opposition parties to discredit the government, Natthapong said he believes everyone commenting or sharing online intends to scrutinize the Prime Minister or government.

"Every investigation must consider both surface and deeper information as well. However, I want to emphasize that the rapid sharing of this post may partly result from the government's past behavior causing public distrust. Therefore, let's not expand this yet; wait for us to verify the information further."
