Prime Minister Noo Denounces Fake 7 Million Baht Tea Money Transfer Rumor as Unintelligent and Misleading

The Prime Minister criticized those spreading fake news about a 7 million baht money transfer, calling it unintelligible and nonsensical, reflecting a lack of wisdom. He advised people to think, analyze, and discern, noting some are using hearsay to politically attack. He added that if such claims are used for political cleansing, the Cabinet would be at a loss for how to respond.

On 26 Oct 2026 at 11:15 GMT+7, Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul gave an interview at the Ministry of Interior regarding the spread of information alleging a 7 million baht transfer to the Prime Minister, described as "tea money." Subsequently, Kasikorn Bank clarified that the transfer slip circulating was false. The Prime Minister responded by asking, "Have they confirmed that? Thank you very much."

When asked for his opinion on the matter, the Prime Minister said he had none. Regarding some MPs who immediately shared the unverified information, he quoted an old saying, "Misheard words lead to wild accusations." He said this showed wisdom and maturity but added it was irrelevant because the claim was untrue. Everything requires analysis, discernment, and thought.

When reporters asked if legal action would be taken, the Prime Minister replied, "We'll see first." He then added, "The person who posted has a dog’s head as their profile picture. Who can you sue? Do they speak human language?" He asked reporters the name on the account and commented, "No parent would name their child 'Godd Dam.'" Asked how he plans to handle such news, the Prime Minister said there is no need for preparation and stressed the importance of facts first.

He added, "Whoever claims 'I heard this' and then protests or spreads rumors must be cautious. These are attempts at political exploitation. Every claim requires evidence; accusations based on rhetoric are unacceptable. If the Cabinet is accused this way, they wouldn't know how to respond because clear proof is necessary. Simply hearing something and believing it is not enough."

The Prime Minister joked that although the rumor claims 7 million baht entered his Kasikorn Bank account, he only saw a little over ten thousand baht. The account number mentioned, XXXX - 1551, does not match his. When he requested a deposit certificate for submission to the National Anti-Corruption Commission, there was no such transaction. Therefore, no further speculation is needed.
